Together in Motion - Igniting Leadership Potential

Motion’s Global Team Leadership Conference

I was thrilled to facilitate the Motion Asia Pacific ‘Together in Motion’ Leadership Conference in March.

The event brought together Motion leaders, suppliers, and industry experts across Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Singapore to connect, communicate and collaborate to reach new heights in the delivery of Vision 2027.

The conference wasn't just about sharpening skills. It was about unleashing collective potential and working in synergy and together, become a formidable force in service of “Industry-leading solutions, tailored to keep you moving".

Over three workshops, the leaders applied tools of Optimal Performance to accelerate growth and got stuck into innovating to create customer value, underpinned by Purpose, Values and Vision.

Well done to the Motion Executive Leadership team for co-creating such an inspiring and visionary event, and to all the participants for your laser-focus and shared commitment to excellence. I can’t wait to see how you channel this energy to defy conventions, set new benchmarks and propel Motion into this next exciting era.

More on Motion

Part of the Motion global group, Motion Australia is the leading force in the distribution of industrial engineering products in Australia, operating across more than 110 branches, workshops and services with more than 1,200 team members.

Optimal Performance

The Optimal Performance equation was created by Timothy Gallwey, a Tennis Coach in the 70s and 80s. He observed we play two games in the arena of life. The first game is external; we need to overcome external interferences to reach an external goal. The second game is internal; it takes place within our minds and is played against such interferences as fear, self-doubt, lapses in focus, and limiting beliefs or assumptions. To unleash potential, we want to maximise potential and minimise interferences.

One of the highlights of the Motion conference was how we applied David Rock’s SCARF model to the realm of Optimal Performance. The leaders looked at how they were showing up — in both their behaviours, and the mindsets driving these behaviours — and how this influences Optimal Performance. We developed brain-friendly techniques to create psychologically safe environments that maximise enablers of potential and minimise interferences, in ourselves and others.

Looking to ignite leadership potential?

I work with leaders and leadership teams all over the world to unleash their potential. Optimal Performance is just one of the tools I use to catalyse the unlock — the crossing of the threshold, between what is and what could be.

Sparked your interest? Let’s stoke the embers.
