Launching the Refinery R|6.0
We launched The Refinery R|6.0 Bootcamp last week, and what a beautiful way to begin such a unique and vital program.
As 2024's R|6.0 facilitator, I’ll be supporting an incredible cohort of creatives to adapt, grow and flourish as leaders in the community; to craft thriving creative businesses; and contribute to the strengthening of the Australian arts and creative industries.
The Bootcamp is the first stage of the program, where a diverse selection of creatives had the opportunity to work on their business for a day during a standalone workshop. Participants delved into design thinking and value creation to unleash the commercial and creative potential of their work.
I was delighted by the ideas and heartfelt participation of all who came along: their commitment, passion and generosity. I too learnt a lot, which often comes when we create a safe space for all to share their wisdom and perspective.
From here, creatives will be handpicked to participate in the extended 10-week R|6.0 program. Those selected are in for a real treat, with the likes of the following as mentors and presenters:
Carly Forrest, Cultural and Business Management Consultant of The Dreaming Collective
Fiona Killackey, Founder of My Daily Business
Alis Anagnostakis, Adult Development Researcher and Founder of the Vertical Development Institute
Anita Siek, ‘Words Queen’ and CEO of Wordfetti
Marvin Fox, Facilitator, UX Designer and Photographer
Jaime Kiss, a seasoned Creative Director, Design Director and Artist
A huge thank you to The Refinery for such a wonderful opportunity to support continued growth in the arts and creative industries. I am greatly looking forward to sharing in the next 10 weeks of learning.
