All About PRAXIS

What is PRAXIS?

I’ve been facilitating PRAXIS 360 Movement Labs in Brisbane for over two years now. Every fortnight, we get people from all walks of life dancing onto our dancefloor at MEtro Arts Studio 2 to experience something unique, often new, and regularly profound.

Those who haven’t been often ask what it’s about.

PRAXIS is an embodied movement practice. A space to bring your whole body online. Through dance, we practice deep listening, regulation, surrender, and expansion.

We work at the edge of comfort, build capacity to stay present when we face the unfamiliar, and move with what arises.

It’s definitely something best understood through experience.

Coherence Through Embodied Dance

Coherence feels like your breath finding rhythm. Your shoulders drop. Your step steadies. The noise in your mind goes quiet. You feel a lift as your body empties. First the still, then the fill, where all the scattered parts of you begin to gather. You are a well, replenished, ready to flow where you will.

That feeling. That’s coherence. Connected in body, mind, breath, emotion, in your nervous system.

Perhaps you haven’t felt coherence in a while. But you’ll know it’s absence: Wired but tired. Stuck in your head. Reactive. Fragmented. Cut off from the ground beneath your feet.

Dance is one pathway to find your way back. Through rhythm, breath, music and movement, the body starts to organise. We release what has been held. We listen beneath the noise. We remember ourselves as whole.
